Before the days of the internet and the ipod, I can understand calling a radio station if you wanted to hear a song. But these days who needs to do that? Now instead of running to your phone all you need to do is run to your computer instead. I guess it is still understandable that not everybody is internet savvy. Some people still might be clueless as to how to go about finding their favorite song online. But I am just wondering for those of you who have worked in radio for a long time. (10 or more years.) Have you noticed a steady decline in the amount of people calling in to hear a certain song (or) have things remained unchanged? I'm just curious.
On a side note. Youtube really is a great place to go to listen to just about any song that you can think of. Sometimes I try to stump it with a difficult song just to see if I can. But most times it's available no matter what song it is. I just entered in an old song from my high school days called "Doctor Doctor" by the Thompson Twins. Not only did I find it.... But I pulled up a fairly new remix that sounds better than the original. Link below. It just made me realize that the need to call in to a radio station to hear your favorite song is not even your best option anymore. The station probably won't play it anyway.
