98.7 AMP RADIO also known as 98.7 WDZH FM DETROIT is a Contemporary Hits Radio station.

98.7 AMP RADIO play's some good music, and I'm glad I live in suburban DETROIT so I can get 98.7 AMP RADIO on my radio thru FM.

It's too Rhythmic, and it plays its powers 134 freaking times per week! That's once every 1.2 hours!

I'm guessing most people don't listen for extended periods of time

134 spins a week? Every 75 minutes. WOW! I thought Radio Disney was bad with about 105 a week. Our CHR spins powers 56 times a week which is a 3 hour rotation.
Wouldn't TSL be blown to hell with a rotation that fast? Or is it just cume they care about?

I don't know if they do anymore, but WFBC in Greenville, SC was spinning its 3-4 powers about 125x a week - and they were mostly burned out hits that had already peaked...gets very old!

The tsl definitely sucks. They're top 5 in cume and 16-20th in share. Until a freak move up in this last book, they were the second lowest commercial FM in the market. Can't look good to the advertisers unless you can't afford 955's rates.

The music has improved after Dom Theodore left! More pure pp, less ghetto crap. We have WJLB and WGPR for Urban. We don't need 955 and 987 to play hip hop and rap.

What's with you and 98.7 AMP? Personally I don't really like either Channel or AMP because they lean too rhythmic for my tastes.

I won tickets from 98.7 AMP a few years ago to a Rihanna concert at DTE Energy Music Theatre.

But I like rap music though. WJLB and WGPR play too much r&b soul music and focus less on rap music.

It's nothing special - just a typical CHR station that plays the same songs over and over and over again. Yes - I do sometimes listen to it when I'm in the Detroit area (because I love CHR music), but I have no loyalty to any station over another. I probably listen to Channel 9-5-5 a bit more.
