Do you think rick dees can beat seacrest on kiss in the mornings?

I hope so!!! I certainly think kiss is not nearly as good a station since it went more rhythmic.Just one mans opinion

KIIS is a 12-34 station, while KMVN is 25-44 female targeted. They appeal to separate segments of the market. The Seacrest listeners willnot like Dees,a nd the Dees listeners will not like Seacrest.

KIIS is up considerably since it went more rhythmic and took off the edgy rock-leaning stuff. This is LA.

This longtime SoCal radio listener agrees! The KIIS-FM heyday was about 81-88, I'd say, when FM Top 40 radio was still listenable. Since about the mid-90's. FM Top 40 radio has been (IMO) substandard listening. Today's AC/Hot AC has been the modern day equal of that era. And with this year being the 30th anniversary of "Disco Duck" becoming a #1 platinum single, what better way to celebrate than with a ratings defeat of the man who is trying to follow your LARadio legacy! Good luck, Rick!!

Rick Dee's is an entertainer.....Ryan Seacrest is a puppet.
I'm sure anyone can figure that out just by listening after Labor Day.....
Can 't wait to get Movin'...............

Moving more rhythmic was a very wise decision for KIIS as can be seen by the ratings.

I would agree with all those who say this won't be a Dees Vs Seacrest battle because the two stations are aiming at different demos.

Boston listener here...will check in on 98.9 often...I like dance music. We had WQSX Star 93.7 for a few years, but they flipped to 93.7 Mike FM, the "we play everything" format...yuck LOL

Luckily Star 93.7 remains as an onlne stream (www.star937fm.com if anyone is interested)

But the poster above says KIIS was popular through the 80's, did it also extend into the 90s? I remember watching 90210 in the first few years, and always saw a KISS sticker on David's locker. This was before I knew about radio, and other cities also had a KISS, a ZOO, and all other formats so I thought it was funny.

Well, I think the Boston folks ain't happy about losing WILD-FM thanks to Radio One, but I guess for now LA still has a full signled UAC. But for how much longer can we have one?
