It's clear that each person you mention has biases. Obviously Hinkley listens to certain stations and seems to report more about them. There was a day when radio was more important and part of our culture and probably needed more reporting. Today radio is fragmented and I would imagine that few, except many of the radio hounds on this site care about those radio blurbs. And frankly, there is not much that goes on that really needs more than how its covered now as I see it. Hinkley leads the pack with more radio stories than I would expect. As for Starr, he reports on friends, friends of friends, and family. Or those he courts. But then again it's his column just as Cindy Adams talks about the people see meets, not everyone you might be interested in hearing about. I laughed out loud at Starrs report yesterday. It said "Well respected veteran of the TV industry (Oprah, Martha, etc) Rob Dauber is going to be executive producer of the New Wendy Williams TV show". RESPECTED??? Yea he's worked on those shows listed and others... and never lasted. Nice guy but respected industry pro? Not at all. At least not with the industry people I work with. Veteran yes, as he has helmed a number of these "talk" shows for short bursts. He simply has an agent that sells him to anyone that will listen just as most of these execs that go from show to show do. Funny side note. We did a pilot with Wendy about 10 years ago for a show produced by Tribune called "Wendy's World". I would imagine this new show will be that again. It wasn't a bad idea, and was actually pretty good, but she soon gets annoying as she is very negative. Watch how long Dauber lasts, or should I say, the show itself.
