Dolphins move from 770 WWCN to 96.1 WRXK in Fort Myers/Naples market

Since we don't have our own board, the Florida board is dead, and Tampa is Bucs land....I thought this should be here as the Dolphins are in Miami.

Press Release: http://www.bbgi.com/pdf/96KRockFootbal.pdf

The discussion I bring is that all these classic rockers (BIG 105.9, 96.1 K-Rock, O-Rock 105.1, etc.) are now jumping on the Dolphins bandwagon to see if it can create the magic the Patroit Rock Network did. I applaud the moves as the AM dial can now be left for the Marlins to have their games on while the Dolphins play on FM. Palm Beach now has the Fins on WZZR-FM and the Treasure Coast has the Fins on WQOL-FM.

As for those who say WIOD may get the AM rights to the Dolphins if 790 The Ticket folds, I think WINZ is more likely because they don't have the Heat to conflict with and they have a better daytime signal.

I didn't realize that the Dolphins were all over the great state of Florida. I mean the Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, and Monroe (Keys) stations make obvious sense to me. The Treasure Coast and even the Melbourne stations also make sense. But I would think that Ft. Myers and Orlando (due to their respective proximities to Tampa) would be 'All The Bucs All The Time', and Ocala, Panama City, and Pensacola would be 'Jags' territory (if not Saints territory for the western panhandle).

I guess the Miami 'Dolfans' are everywhere !

The Bucs have their FOX4 package and they are on WCCF-AM/WGUF-FM.
The Fins are on CBS/WINK-TV and just got on the very strong k-rock.
