DONNA SUMMER "QUEEN OF DISCO" DIES OF CANCER !!!!

Sad day indeed.
TMZ newsflash.

Dim All The Lights
Last Dance
Heaven Knows
Dinner With Gershwin
No More Tears (Enough Is Enough)
On The Radio

This Is sad, very sad! And I have all of her albums and CDs and if it wasn't for her I wouldn't have discovered my love for Disco and Dance music. It was a good thing she showed up at Milwaukee back in '83 when she did Summerfest and I was lucky to see her perform her sets live with a live band, something you don't see these days.

Not bad for a woman from Boston who placed 49 singles (including 16 number ones) on Billboard's Dance Club Play Chart, and the only who continued to chart there up until her passing.

Long Live The "Queen of Disco"

I like quite a bit of Donna Summer's music but if I had to pick one song that made a huge impact on me as a young kid was "I feel love". It was in a class by its self. I heard it on a dance show on a college radio station late Sunday night back in 1990. It must have been a throwback before there was such a term. No wonder that another favorite disco tune of mine is "The Chase" by Giorgio Moroder.

Since we're on the subject...

"Spring Affair" (very underrated tune...I'd say even a masterpiece from that era. 1976 had some of most memorable disco songs)
"With Your Love" (from the TGIF soundtrack...much overlooked) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ze4xu6GfVuw&feature=related
"MacArthur's Park" (especially the long version)
"Our Love"
"I Feel Love" (a can't-miss if there's ever one)
"Try Me...I Know We Can Make It"
"Bad Girls" (only because I heard it all the time at the house I was in when I was a youngster)
