Does the bell ringing at the start of "Just Like Starting Over" by John Lennon (assuming you play it)
qualify too? (or is that not on the rotation)

We do remember WJIB-FM's ships' bells; years ago when I lived in Nahant we had one of those clocks. For those not familiar, 8 bells is at 12 (noon or midnight), 4 pm/am, and 8 pm/am. The next half hour is one bell, and a bell gets added every half hour to the maximum of eight. They are grouped in 'twos'. When 11:30 rolls around tonight, if I had a ships' clock, it would sound
ding-ding! ding-ding! ding-ding! ding!

I believe 99.9 down on The Cape still uses them.
