Was he offering compelling content that viewers were clamoring to watch? Or was he just another in the cacophony of indistinguishable voices?

McGraw's stock had gone way, way down before he started this venture. This didn't help him regain his mainstream status one iota.
 
Here's another take from The Hollywood Reporter about yesterday's hearing. I thought this part was funny: "I sat here listening to Matt say no one was watching,” he said, drawing an admonishment from the court and impeachment from Trinity Broadcasting’s lawyer. “We’d gone up 51 slots since launch, probably the most successful launch in a decade. We had millions of people watching. I don’t know what he’s talking about. The last thing I wanted to do was sue TBN or shut down Merit Street.”

Many regarded his content as worth watching. A new diginet is often a risky venture.

Dr. Phil’s Envoy TV, Launched From The Ashes Of Bankrupt Main Street Media, Lands Carriage Deal With Charter

Here’s a crazy turn of events here and yes Dr. Phil is running with the Envoy banner for a cable and streaming deal with Spectrum the cable service that operates in New York, Los Angeles and Dallas TV Markets.
 
On the subject of EnvoyTV, reading through the discovery in the Merit Street Bankruptcy, it sounds like EnvoyTV is supposed to take over the non-TBN Merit TV affiliates and, if it was not mentioned already, EnvoyTV is a joint venture with Estrella Media via MediaCo and will using Estrella's Production facilities and likely air on Estrella TV Stations. Of course, the Merit Street Bankruptcy is not exactly playing out the way they planned, so we will see soon how this plays out.

That would be a small lineup of TV stations, as Estrella/MediaCo only owns full power stations in Los Angeles, Houston and Denver, along with LPTVs in NYC and Chicago.

All the other EstrellaTV stations are affiliates that would have no obligation to run EnvoyTV.

There is talk in the discovery that Estrella/MediaCo possibly could buy more TV Stations after restructuring debt. I guess I probably should link to where I'm getting this in the docket.
