DX ALERT - WTIC 1080 Going off the Air 3 Nights in A Row for Maintainence

Like Tincap was hearing, I caught some Jazz during the WTIC silent period late Saturday night. Only, it sounded lke 'Jazz', not Adult Standards.

KRLD was weak but steady, and was atop most of the time -- weaker than they were during the WTIC SP several years back when they were loud enough for a buddy of mine to tune out, thinking they were WTIC.

I didn't ID the other talker with KRLD (probably Louisville) which started to override them after a half hour. Both were pretty weak.

The lone music station though : That sounded far more 'Jazz' to me than anything. There was a song with an extended horn solo, and twenty minutes later there was an extended jazz guitar solo with the GE SRII on the same bearing. Any eligibles from Canada?

Does Alaska 1080 play jazz, drool, hi?

There was a now-dark/license turned in AM daytimer about 20 miles from here in southeastern NC that was on 1080 until I guess five years ago. I remember at their signoff for years, especially during the winter months, WTIC would be what immediately came through.

But the last few years, WTIC's been scarcer. I have heard ESPN1080 from Orlando several times, sometimes clear as a bell, over WTIC.
