Eastfield College will be offering courses on the history of rock n' roll

If the college exists only to make a profit on slacker courses I can easily understand their motivation. If, however, they are a serious provider of higher education then it makes no sense at all. Everything you need to know about the history of Rock n Roll is on the Drake files and any big words can be researched through Google.

Sorry, but this is the stupidest thing I have heard in a while. If everything can be found through Google, why have colleges at all!

It's an elective. Let them take it if they like. Makes sense to a music major.

You must not get out much.

Because Google doesn't have a football team?

Makes about as much sense as working with clay.

I suppose it depends on whether it is the study of music (specifically RnR - I didn't think that was the purpose) or how RnR interacted with the history of its times (which would not necessarily be of interest to a music major).

Either way, I see it as a fluff course and a waste of taxpayer funding. If we're talking about a non-taxpayer funded college then go for it.

Everybody chill.  This is a Continuing Education class and it is listed under the Leisure & Personal Interest section of Eastfield's catalog.  It isn't part of their college credit curriculum.  DCCC has been offering these sorts of personal improvement classes to the community for decades.  The good news is they offer a Piano I class for just $45.
