Edward Albert son of Eddie Albert of Green Acres Fame R.I.P.

Edward Albert son of actor Eddie Albert and Margo Albert, b.Feb. 20, 1951 has died after a battle with lung cancer he was 55. He died in his sleep at his home in Malibu last friday. His father passed away a little bit over a year ago at the age of 99. He spent the last ten years of his life taking care of his father that was afflicted with Alzheimers's disease. He was a guest star on many tv shows such as Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, Falcon Creast and Port Charles. He was a member of the California Coastal Commission and the Native Americian Heritage Commision. He also appeared in at least 120 movies the first being "Butterflies Are Free" in which he co-starred with Goldie Hawn as a blind person trying to break away from an over protective mother. Rest in Peace Edward!

This is really an ironic twist to say the least! Who would have thought that such a devoted son would be gone so soon after his fathers passing!

Edward Albert was known to be devoted to his father. Right up to recent times he would bring his father into the bar at The Beverly Hilton for an afternoon cocktail. Admirers and touists would come over and introduce themselves and he would be there to assist his father, whom seemed to appreciate the attention. Edward and his father were known to be very nice people and the best of Hollywood class.

I knew somebody who worked in the film industry with Eddie Albert, and had some great stories about Eddie - he did seem like a great guy. The obit for Edward stated that he worked very hard for environmental causes. No doubt, he picked up his activism form his father, who had been an environmental crusader for decades.
