Elvis Duran Celebrates 25 Years of Mornings on Z100

https://news.****************/cgi-bin/rol.exe/headline_id=n40543

Congrats to his staff!

iHeartMedia New York's top-rated "Elvis Duran and the Morning Show" is celebrating 25 years on Z100 New York. The station started the celebration this morning with former cast members joining the show and well wishes from celebrities including Katy Perry, Ed Sheeran, Billie Eilish, Coldplay, Imagine Dragons and Lizzo.

The show began on the legendary Z100 New York in 1996 and in 2006 started syndication at iHeartMedia Miami's WHYI-FM. "Elvis Duran and the Morning Show" can now be heard in more than 70 markets across the country and is syndicated nationally by Premiere Networks. Additionally, in October 2020, the show gained its first International affiliate, CIRR-FM in Toronto, Ontario, which carries a format oriented towards the LGBTQ community.

Actually Elvis Duran was syndicated back in 2003 on WHCY FM in Blairstown, NJ if I am not mistaken.

Yes, WHCY did carry them starting in 2003. I was eight years old at the time. At first I thought the station my area was stealing their show. The first few years the board op just kept the regular music from Z100 to Max 106.3. This resulted in more urban style songs being played on the western NJ/Poconos station. Later they'd "fade in" music from the WHCY library with gaps where you'd hear the very end of a different song playing on Z100.

I grew up not far from there yet Z100 100.3 FM has always been the only station I can get Elvis Duran on loud and clear. 106.3 is all static by where I grew up.

God forbid the Poconos and Western NJ get to hear hip hop and r&b. 🙄 They need some of that.

I remember when Elvis Duran was only on Z100, Max 106.3, Q102 Philly, and it was a big deal when they added Y100 Miami.
I also remember hearing a New York area traffic report on Q102

I remember when he was the hot drive time DJ on Z100 (and not syndicated). I remember when it was a big deal that he had a cameo role as himself in Die Hard with a Vengence in 1995. He's been at this for a looooooong time.
