Educational Media Foundation (EMF) continues to beef up its station holdings with the pending $410,000 purchase of “Country 99.3” WKMO, licensed to Lebanon Junction, KY from Steve Newberry’s Commonwealth Broadcasting.
WKMO, which is a Class A, 6,000-watt signal located approximately 35 miles south of Louisville, will flip to the Christian broadcast group’s “Air1” or “K-Love” syndicated contemporary Christian music format, expanding its reach in and around Louisville.
EMF already owns contemporary Christian “Air1” affiliate WARA (88.3) New Washington, KY, which is approximately 30 miles north of Louisville. It also clears its contemporary Christian “K-Love” network on the Louisville-licensed translator W236AN at 95.1, with programming originating on WSDF-HD2. The addition of WKMO would provide EMF with another full-power signal in the area.
EMF is in talks to get WKMO from Commonwealth Broadcasting. Note the sale is pending as of this post.
