EMF Outbids KCRW and Group Headed By KUSP People to By KUSP

"Sadly it became a bidding war. Please help support your Public Radio Stations, they are no match for EMF."

Excellent Message, Michael. I'm a huge public radio listener (I give to like FOUR stations KPCC/TheCurrent HD2, KCSN and KCRW) and what EMF is doing sickens me. KCRW should be taking the old KUSP signal and broadcast "Eceletic24" or HD main signal. How many more K-LOVE's do we need?

It was interesting to me that the EMF bid was just $5K more than the one from KCRW. It's as though they knew what the bid was going to be, and just added a few thousand to make sure they won.

Again, preachers are better at getting money out of people than public radio begathons are. You can serve god and mammon.

The EMF people are very aggressive in their business dealings, so when faced with generally more passive community and public groups, they win. It's like a bull fight; the odds are stacked against the bull when the opponent has a sword.

It's too late, obviously, but had $5,000 made the difference I would have sent them a check!

According to radio digest EMF has placed a 1.25 million dollar bid for 105.1 KVGH (Valleys greatest hits) in the Palm Springs market.

With all of these commercial frequencies now in their possession I wonder if they're going to try to create a for-profit program stream. I don't know the full legality of it but I would think it would have to be a separate company.
