Prior to Darrin Arriens death he was managing Entercom's Charlotte's operations as WLNK PD since 2017.

A 30+ year radio industry veteran, ARRIENS had joined ENTERCOM/CHARLOTTE three years ago (NET NEWS 3/3/2017).

ARRIENS had worked with current ENTERCOM/CHARLOTTE SVP/Market Manager MATT HANLON for the better part of 20 years in a number of markets. He had also programmed Country KSKS (93.7 KISS COUNTRY)/FRESNO, Hot AC WGYL (THE BREEZE 93.7)/WEST PALM BEACH, FL, PD and MD at KKMG (MAGIC FM) and sister Classic Rocker KKFM/COLORADO SPRINGS, PD at Classic Rocker KHYT/TUCSON, PD for Rocker WKLQ/GRAND RAPIDS and MD at Top 40 WJIM/LANSING among others, including PD at WRIF/DETROIT and WLZR/MILWAUKEE.

In March 2017, an ex-Citadel Broadcasting regional director who served as the PD of Vero Beach, Fla.’s Treasure and Space Coast Radio found himself moving to Charlotte, to take a key role for Entercom's stations in the market. Now, media professionals from across the U.S. are taking a pause to remember him. Darrin Arriens is a victim of the COVID-19 virus.
