brnout, and wcau are right. The weather isn't scripted. if it was, they would have a hard time pointing & looking at the maps while trying to read. If you notice unlike a newsreader, they're not looking directly into the camera then entire time when doing their report. Also, on a Saturday morning, even in a major market like Philadelphia, they have a skeleton staff.
As for Erica Grow and her trouble reading, this is also not true. She indeed stumbled when talking, but that was when it was ad-libbed. When reading off the teleprompter, which she did for her green reports, ask erica grow, and image of the week she had no problems. Infact after reading this the first time I made sure to pay attention to her final green report, and they were short on time. She ran thru it quickly with no problems. So as it turns out, she probably would've been a better weather presenter if it was scripted word for word.
BTW, while we now know she left on her own. If we didn't know yet, I would also say maybe her reporting was a factor. She was a terrible reporter.
