ESPN Deportes to carry FIFA World Cup in Portuguese

I assume it was probably because it was the only language Deportes could get that had a large enough audience since Univision has the Spanish rights, and it would pretty much set off an exodus to Univision's sports channel for match analysis. All about protecting their audience, though U-Deportes has already become competitive with ESPN and Fox Deportes in only two years time thanks to Univision's aggressive carriage for their channels (they just lit up on Charter in HD this week where I am).
