Maybe they were too busy listening to the devil's music when they should have been studying history! hahaha!andreajesus said:You never saw the movie "Why Do Fools Fall in Love?" then... 8) they messed things up SO BAD on that one...hornet61 said:But to scew up a movie about Alan Freed, that way, is a crime.

At least the song was already in existence at the time. On American Dreams, they had kids dancing to music that hadn't even been recorded yet!hornet61 said:American Hot Wax.....What amazed me the most about this movie, is that, the only Bio-Pic of the man sometimes credited with the birth of Rock N' Roll music ,was so blatantly, chronologically incorrect in the music and artists. There is a scene where the background song is from about 1958 and a kid is crying to Alan Freed that it is the one year anniversary of the death of Buddy Holly, which mean that Buddy died before "That'll be The Day went to number 1. Another scene has what is definitely a Connie Francis character with 1959 music in the background, as still undisovered. None of the acts and the background music fit the real time period, maybe I'm too much of a freak, but, many Rock N Roll bio pics take a lot of Dramatic license on the personal life stuff, but the music usually tracks chronologically. But to scew up a movie about Alan Freed, that way, is a crime.

Quantum Leap was one of those shows that I really missed out on. Maybe I can catch it on DVD or something.hornet61 said:Yes Cold Case is a great example, they do a great job. Quantum Leap was fairly accurate also, Another good movie with a breathtaking soundtrack was Goodfellas, and of course Forrest Gump. I've got to take another look at "Why Do Fools Fall In Love" I don't recall how good or bad it was, as AJ pointed out and she knows her stuff.

Not according to American Dreams! ;Dlandtuna said:firepoint525 said:If you ever watch the TV show Cold Case, they seem to do a pretty good job in matching the music (along with the clothing, hair styles, and almost everything else you could possibly imagine) into the time frame that they are trying to portray.
They do a good job except that I don't know of any large city where people never move. Of course, it would defeat the basic storyline if the cold casers couldn't track down the perps.
Maybe if you grew up in Philly there is just no where else you'd ever want to live. (insert giant guffaw here)
Even Dick Clark left.......
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed.hornet61 said:To date the best movie I have seen where the music chronolgy is almost flawless is "A Bronx Tale", a Robert DeNiro film... and Martin Scorsesse (probably mis-spelled his name)is another guy who has great music in his movies that seem to fit all the time periods.............I loved KdxIn reply ,that was hilarious.
