Ex-WBZ talker Steve Martorano trying out for WPHT job

Not sure if anyone here remembers Steve Martorano who used to be at WBZ and I think
WHDH. He's been in Philly awhile and Tom Taylor on radio-info says he and a broadcast
partner are trying out for the pm drive slot at WPHT 1210 Phila.

>>CBS Radio’s WPHT, Philadelphia (1210) is quietly testing a new team of Buzz Bissinger and Steve Martorano – presumably for duty once Rush Limbaugh leaves and WPHT moves Michael Smerconish from afternoons into the “Rush spot” of noon-3pm. The Philadelphia Board of Radio-Info.com picks up some Twitter traffic about Bissinger and Martorano, heard after some Phillies games.

>>WBZ-AM (1030), the 70-year-old powerhouse in full-service radio, yesterday announced that it was firing hosts Upton Bell and Steve Martorano from their weekday shifts and expanding its morning and afternoon news blocks, effective Jan. 13. The change, management said, is a natural evolution in combining the news operations of WBZ radio with the TV side to create a more solid news-radio operation.
