So you're saying you rely completely on Wikipedia info, and don't seek out information by scanning information which satisfies that you're publishing correct info? And if so, that's not considered fine-tuning?

And again, once you determined the discrepancies, you sought out corrections or clarifications? Not considered fine-tuning?
I don't use Wikipedia at all for www.worldradiohistory.com. I use the original issues of tens of thousands of magazines and other publications.

I've actually been thinking about a profitable use for an open version of AI: 'Rent A Friend, for the socially awkward'.
Just think, using an example of a lot of folks on this very site, you can have a digital friend, select male or female voice. Your friend will always be pleasant to you, laugh at your jokes, enjoy all the stories of radio bygone days, loves to talk about DX-ing, helps with tasks involving ceiling fans... The list is endless. It will be a true friend for only $29.99 per month.

And it will always hit the post….

It depends. Some Large Language models like ChatGPT/Microsoft Sidney-Bing/and Google Bard, all do the same thing; they search portions of the public Internet looking for something to respond with that is accurate to what it's able to find, and if not, make something up that would satisfy what it thinks the questioner would consider the response reasonable. In other words, the model is designed to please.
Some search the internet, some just use a corpus of data that is getting increasingly stale. Ask Google Bard something that changes regularly, such as "who is the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom?" and it'll go off and search Google and come back with the correct answer, Rishi Sunak. Ask ChatGPT the same question and it tells you that it was last updated in September 2021 and at that time it was Boris Johnson. It doesn't have any sort of real-time access to information, just a huge data file on disk.

They're just fancy predictive text. Big models that predict the next word in a sentence. Ask it a math question and observe the chaos.

You never know, it might even find your jokes funny.

And when I get my service ready specifically for catering to the socially awkward, I'll make sure it agrees with whatever you say for only $29.99 a month, or 23.22 GBP.
Why are you here?

Genuine question.

You dislike almost all the conversations on the forum, and you complain endlessly. You make ageist and ableist jokes, you are obsessed with old people and social awkwardness, and you quite clearly hate it here.

If this forum and its users are so unappealing to you, and its content is so dull, and you have so many better things to do than talk to a bunch of geriatric, autistic radio geeks, why on earth do you come to a forum called Radio Discussions for hours every day? Perhaps we are not the ones with the issue here.

As Moe Howard used to say, "I resemble that remark."
If you were actually one of us, you'd find "normal" people like Kelly entertaining.

Kelly can be very funny and insightful. Lately, though---not gonna lie, I'm not seeing a lot other than bashing other people's posts.

This isn't about whatever disagreements Kelly and I have had---I'm built for that kind of stuff, and we agree more than we disagree.

And CTL, the part of your comment that I put in bold font above is just pure and simple bullying. "Try that on a small board" stuff. You're way better than that.

Not that it's any of your business, but because I find unique walks of life interesting. That said; many times topics quickly go off course from meaningful or insightful discussions of radio and media in today's environment to swerving reminiscences of nostalgia and revisionist history that has nothing to do with the topic. One must look no further than reading Frank and David's latest opening request, to try and stay on topic. More recently, the off-topic, bizarre ramblings by obvious 'Luddite' participants frustratingly derail the entire thread. Don't get me wrong, I think it's great to relive the old days of radio, but hijacking threads purely because someone refuses to keep up with modern media or topics at hand, isn't cool. There are plenty of topics that relate to the old days.
I'm no spring chicken myself, and have literally grown up with a professional media background, but find it personally unproductive to live purely in the past. That's why the current generation is quick to put us out to pasture; because we make no attempt to keep up. I have no intention to be put out to pasture anytime soon.

The bully and his Yes men have run many talented people right off this board.

I think you misinterpret here, Michael. I'm getting up there in years and am indeed on the spectrum. I was just saying that I'm amused when Kelly points out how old and obsessive some posters who match that description are, because that's actually me, if you want to know the truth. I just usually keep that part of my personality in check, which is what you do on a (largely) anonymous message board. I apologize for plenty, but not that comment. I wasn't bullying anyone, just letting Kelly know I also appreciate his contributions and find this whole line of discussion entertaining. I wish "normal" people would do the same. If Miss Tuned is offended, though ... what can I say? She called us "geriatric, autistic radio geeks." I agreed.

That's twice you've suggested Miss Tuned is somehow not "normal".

Wonder how much longer the 'Kelly's being mean to me' discussion, and we can get back to discussing AI? Because once again, none of this has anything to do with the original topic.

Read my amended reply, written while you were typing yours. I'm not seriously suggesting Miss Tuned is anything negative, certainly not bullying anyone. I appreciate her posts and Kelly's and a whole lot of people's. This is a turn of events I totally did not anticipate.

Fair enough.
