Family Feud on a Philadelphia licensed TV station

Any word as to when 3, 6, 10, 17, 29 and 57 will pick up Family Feud? Its airing on WFMZ in Allentown.

I doubt anyone is going to. If they aren't airing it they probably never are. There are too many new shows being syndicated for them to bother picking up something that has been on for years. Besides WFMZ is available to people in Philly if they want to watch the show.

WFMZ is on Xfinity, FiOS, DircTv and Dish in the Philly market. If you have one of these 4, you have channel 69.

Given the widespread availability of channel 69 (if not their subchannels) and the fact that geographically Allentown is in the Philly TV market area, if channel 69 gets a show that might preclude another station from taking it (unless the other station is able to take it away).

3, 17 and 29 all had it at various times in the current run, and all dropped it, Julius. Does that tell you what the odds are?

You mean, all of them? ::)

That WFMZ is a neat little station with a great news operation. I recall they aired the now-defunct syndicated "Rush Limbaugh" TV show, even as WTXF (and I believe WPSG before it) carried it in Philly.

I should have said 3, 6, 10, 17, 29 OR 57. Forgot to add or.

I doubt that. WFMZ is still up in Allentown which is a submarket 45 miles away from Philadelphia, giving them a syndex advantage to duplicate Philly stations on syndicated programming (e.g. Dr. Phil, Judge Judy). I don't think it is the case that it is now equivalent to Burlington, NJ (WGTW) to Philadelphia, as 48 back as WGTW (Ind.) had to compete against 17 29 and 57 with different programming. I'm sure one of the bigger Philly TV stations could pick it up but none choose to.

The old Family Feud episodes are already seen alot on GSN, and probably dilutes the value of any of the new episodes.

It's probably a long time ago since 3 and 17 had it. I remember Ch.10 airing it some 20 years ago (probably the CBS version). With the exception of Ch.29, it's been on smaller channels like 48, pax/ion 61 and WFMZ since.

3 had it in the 2007-2008 season, 17 IIRC had it the following year (late weekend nights). 29 had it prior to this season in the wee hours. Channel 10 naturally had the CBS run, they also ran both previous syndicated incarnations. When CBS cancelled Feud, 10 slid the syndicated version into it's slot for a time.
