"Family Guy" And "American Dad" Both Seen In Full After President Bush's Speech!

Well, Fox's broadcast network carried President Bush's speech at 9 P.M. EST. The speech ended at 9:18, and a minute later, the network's coverage ended.

"Family Guy" started immediately thereafter, and guess what?? It was shown in full! This week's episode ended at 9:49 P.M. Eastern!

It gets even better if you're a fan of "American Dad": Fox also aired that show in full, resulting in the network's prime-time schedule "sliding". As a consequence, Fox affiliates' high-profit late local newscasts (in the Eastern and Central time zones) were pushed back to 10:19 P.M. EST.

For once, Fox did the right thing!

How come I had absolutely 0% knowledge that this was gonna happen tonight? I watched "The War At Home" and there wasn't a single mention of this coming. Thank goodness FOX aired the entire episode! Well worth the wait! And to think I was about to e-mail a complaint off to FOX, too? :)

Looks like ABC (or at least KNXV-TV Phoenix) did the same thing. It is currently 9:20 here in the Mountain Time Zone, and "Desperate Housewives" (which is normally scheduled from 8:00-9:00) is just now wrapping up.

Me either. I haven't paid attention to tv in days due to watching The Simpsons 7th Season dvd that just came out. I was a little worried when my Fox station showed a "joined in progress" graphic, but after I see the opening credits to Family Guy I was glad that Fox didn't do what they did to King of the Hill two years ago on their Christmas episode when NFL overrun it.

NBC kept promoting it with both snipes and NIs. All the networks slid programming.. Our late news hit @ 10:20:31p CT last night.

They promoted their Sunday lineup at least a dozen times during the Cowboy game and never said a thing about Bush's speech. I assumed that, being a Sunday, the broadcast networks would pass on it.
