Family Radio: May 21, 2011 is Judgement Day

I respectfully disagree with Dr. Camping's "end of the world" predictions and prophecy. If Dr. Camping is going to quote Biblical scriptures to verify his claims, he should consider the Biblical scriptures as a whole and not view the scriptures as one would review a restaurant menu, only agreeing with certain parts while ignoring the rest.

At the risk of sounding "religious" (and this is clearly not my objective), the scriptures clearly state that, and I am paraphrasing, No man, not even the angels above nor Jesus Christ himself knows when the end time is upon us. Only God the father knows these things.

Additionally, the scriptures speaks of False Prophets. By definition anyone who proclaims any informational content as fact that contradicts the scriptures is a False Prophet or a False Teacher.

Lastly, the term "Rapture" does not appear anywhere within the scriptures. This term was created by Theologians to represent the "coming up" of the church when Christ returns, while, at the same time, there are no mathematical formulas nor other benchmarks contained within the Biblical scriptures that anyone can use to predict any end of time prophecy time frame.

In conclusion, my suggestion is Dr. Camping sell WFME to an entity that will utilize the 94.7mHz frequency to better serve the public interest of Newark, New York and the surrounding Metro NYC area without subjecting the rest of us to this unfounded and unverifiable May 21st, 2011, false prophecy.

I'd rather have Southern Gospel or old-time traditional Gospel. Christian Contemp (aka Jesus Rock) is just...cheesy.

To answer your question I've never listened to K-Love but I don't agree with the "underlying beliefs" of Christian stations so I suppose that automatically makes me no fan of the format.
Regarding country music, I have absolutely nothing against the music but think the format has no place in New York. It is not a format that makes money here nor would it pull in enough cume to make it successful. There are genres far more fitting for New York that are missing.

Sir, I am not of the Christian faith but after reading your comments all I can say is bless you. Camping's predictions of the future doomed planet are really no different than the preaching's of the Phelps family of Topeka, who preach that G-d is hate filled and angry. Thank you for showing rationality through the nonsense.
 
OK, so you're a reporter, and you get to talk to God about the Rapture. You ask the main fact-finding questions:

Who? - All believers.
What? - Rapture.
Where? - All over the world.
How? - Caught up in the air.
Why? - To judge the ones that are "left behind".
When? - Huh?

When is all this gonna happen? - Doesn't matter.

I'm sorry, but everything has to have a date to it, right? - Not to Me; it doesn't matter.
Why not? - Because I'm God. You see, I live in this time zone called "eternity". That's E-T-E-R-N-I-T-Y.

So, if you're a Christian, you have this life called "eternal" life. That is, unless you follow Mr. Camping, and put a time limit on it.

It really doesn't matter. So, go live above it.
 
Actually, it would be funny if the rapture occured as Camping predicts and like the Muslims predict for themselves, he goes straight to heaven and he's told that he now has eternal life but he only gets one virgin. He is then handed a mirror and told to be on his way.

One of the most durable stunt songs ever.

"It's the End of the World" was most famously used in a 24-hour loop to sign on modern rock WENZ/107.9 "The End" in Cleveland, Ohio back in 1992 - and then again in 1999 when WENZ flipped to urban contemporary.
 
Trivia: What's the only lyric in that song that repeats (not counting the chorus)? And NO Googling... go!

Bottom line is, the American Atheists will converge in Oakland on the 21st... and then will gladly proclaim that nothing happened. Others have suggested actually going to the Family Radio HQ that evening to jeer and mock.

Even as a Christian I am amused by this and actually have no problem with it. Anyone with an inkling of common sense could have seen the mocking coming a mile away. But also because Camping is a heretic and a false prophet. He thinks that all the attention he's getting in the media is a good thing for him and his cult, but he is so blinded by himself not to see that virtually everyone not a Camping cultist doesn't believe one wit of what he says, and never will.

The one thing I'm concerned about is that neither Camping nor his followers sycophants will be alive to be mocked at. They easily could pull a Heaven's Gate via instructions on WFME et al.

Took nearly 30 minutes listening to the song over and over again (I actually made a hour-long mock-up of WENZ's second stunt with the sounders intact) and here's my guess:

"A tournament, a tournament, a tournament of lies!"
