Family Stations & Relevant Radio Swap In Baltimore And Orlando

Who's running Family Radio now? Harold had no succession plan, considering he thought the end of times were near. The assumption was once Harold died, there would be no Family Radio anymore. And yet, it seems to be alive and still bilking old ladies out of their life savings.

A CEO and some other folks, duh

Not necessarily. Harold Camping didn't have a CEO title. The entire past structure was very unusual, more like a church structure than a business-corporation. There must be a new version of Harold pulling the strings now.

There are lots of Wiki's and older newspaper articles about Harold, his failed end-time predictions, and Family Station's past structure, but nothing that would indicate who owns and runs it today.

Not really. Three years ago, Family Radio distanced itself from Harold Camping and his teachings.

I think even in the "end of the world" days, there was a business manager that was sane. They scheduled programming past the "end date"

Actually, as I recall when Harold has his stroke and died shortly after, the organization was relegated with playing (to paraphrase) 'The Best Of Harold.' Minus the predictions, of course.. The organization remained a bit of a ship without a rudder for at least a couple years. I'm just curious how they managed to reorganize and keep all the assets and many of the stations running when Harold had zero plans for FRS to continue, assuming his end of time prediction didn't come true. Just the licenses alone, let alone the organization assets and revenue, were all under Harold's direct control since the beginning. It would be an unbelievable mess to reorganize.

If you tuned in Family Radio the weekend of May 20-22, you would have heard regular programming and wouldn't have heard much of anything about the impending Rapture. No air raid sirens, no breathless coverage, no last-minute exhortations to get saved in the correct way. Business as usual....snore. Programming had been scheduled through the weekend and I'm sure Monday. When it was time for Camping's spot on Saturday night, a rerun (seemingly very old) with no EotW talk, aired.

Family Radio did come to an end times of its own, with having to sell some stations. Donations have rebounded and the saale of that land in New York has certainly helped.

What still amazes me is that when I think of a cult leader, I think of someone young and dashing. Harold Camping looked like a cadaver, but got people to leave everything and travel the country and world to spread the world. "I bought a one-way ticket to Australia and now the world didn't end!"
