Fascinating lawsuit filed by Radio One against Steve Hegwood & Wayne Brown

I can't believe that anyone would be so brazen and think that they could get away with what seems to be an obvious and flagrant breach of K and theft of proprietary material.

Cumulus is also named a defendant because of the 97.9 translator (which Extreme Media owned before the exchange to Cumulus for the Albany station).

Hegwood must be running for the hills now. How incredibly stupid does one have to be to commit a textbook case of stealing proprietary research and trade secrets to compete against someone who is paying you.

Cumulus was probably included in the suit because of the old legal principles of deep pockets and naming anyone who could possibly be related to the case when you file suit, because you can't add them to the suit later should they be found to be materially involved.

I predict that Cumulus will be dropped from the case by the judge if and when it goes to trial.

PErhaps Cumulus can pick-up 102.9 on the cheap and use that as a translator for The Fan if it is anywhere near the strength on 97.9.
