Favorite/Least Favorites Songs of 2008

Best: Stop and Stare by OneRepublic - Excellent song full of soul and style.

Worst: Burnin' Up - Jonas Brothers - This is the worst song maybe of the decade. It is so bad it makes you laugh. It is like they put three different parts together and melded them. Awful.

YOURS?

Best: "Bleeding Love" by Leona Lewis - this song had EVERYTHING!!!... Best vocal of the year... soul and passion poured into every lyric... just an amazing song... I guess I wasn't the only one to feel this way as it was also the best selling single of the year and had AMAZING call out. It also spent 10 weeks at #1 not just at Pop, but also at Hot AC, matching Natalie Imbruglia's rare double-double with "Torn"... what more is there to say?

Worst: "Touch By Body" by Mariah Carey - a cheap imitation of Mariah's most boring #1 hit ever, "Shake It Off." It called out HORRIBLY and to this date still sounds just as bad as it did the day it came out. Quite disappointing after her massive comeback with "We Belong Together". Dishonorable mention: "Keeps Getting Better" by Christina Aguilera - lyrically, just beyond awful.

BEST: I'll tell you what, the Brits had it right with The X Factor contest. Leona Lewis, especially with "Bleeding Love." That song just had IT. I remember the first time, FIRST TIME, that I heard it in March, and as soon as I did, the thought that came to my head, "Damn, this song will dominate!" And, it did.

WORST: I normally like Justin Timberlake, but I thought his collaboration with Madonna on "4 Minutes" was terrible. It had a good beat (the first time or two you heard it), but it got annoying as hell after awhile.

Totally agree about the Jonas Brothers song being one of the worst (at least in my opinion). Also didnt much care for PCD's "When I Grow Up".
Loved Christina's "Keeps Getting Better", and thought "4 Minutes" was one of Madonna's better releases this decade.
I was very happy to see Leona Lewis do so well this year.

Akon had it going on this year. Aside from "Right Now", "What You Got" by Colby Odonnis and Kardinal Offishal's "Dangerous" both featured him. The video for "Dangerous" also had this drop dead gorgeous chick in the video ;D

I actually managed to hear this song long before most people here in the US did... I found it on a girl's Myspace page as her profile song - apparently she had traveled to Europe that summer and heard it there... Anyways, I took ONE listen and only one listen back in late December '07 and knew this song was something VERY special... and on 12/29/07, I downloaded it off Walmart.com... dominate it certainly did do!
