FBC Sports goes long to air Gaffney gridiron games on 103.3 FM

That's what I expected, since WOLT is also owned by Davidson. How's the reception for 103.3 in Gaffney?

I have to say the article exaggerates the signal strength quite a bit:
"Fowler, who remains station manager of WEAC, said local listeners will still have good reception for the games since WOLT's transmitter, located in Spartanburg County near Greer, can be heard from Clemson to Shelby, N.C., and from Asheville, N.C., to Clinton."

I don't think you can pick up 103.3 in Clemson, Shelby, or Asheville. My best estimates would be Western Greenville to Gaffney and Tryon to Laurens.

I'm sure 103.1 WRIX must interfere once you get past Greenville.

I have not sampled WOLT's signal in Shelby (or Cleveland County), but it probably isn't too bad, especially in the southern extremes of Cleveland County. WOLT comes in quite well in Rutherford County (NC), especially the southern half. The northeast portion of Rutherford County battles with WKVS, Kicks 103.3 in Lenoir, NC.

It is excellent in Gaffney, pretty good in Shelby. The Clemson and Asheville mentions are a real
stretch! 103.3 still has the slight directional pattern to East from it's simulcast days with 103.9!
103.9 favors the Southwest.

Yeah, I think Asheville is quite a stretch. And Clinton? Not quite. I hope they do well, though...and I'm sure they will. Perhaps one day soon, WEAC will have an FM translator allowing them 24-hour broadcasting. I hear approval for this sort of arrangement is on the horizon.
