FCC grants Construction Permit to Kids First. WITT 91.9 Zionsville !!!

Kids will never listen to this station, for one thing the signal is too weak for most of the Cheap azz childrens radios, usually with broken antenna's. And aside from that, the 8 yr olds will either listen to radio disney, or most likely they will listen to Radio Now 100.9 and Hot 96 whhh,, some will even listen to WRZX.... Just because they are kids doesnt mean they listen to lame childrens programing, and they wont listen to WITT either. I lean more to the left than right (actually im about straight down the middle), but keep politics of any kind off of childrens radio, this is corruption. ::)

WITT's "Kids First" parent company is actually rather ill-named. From what I gather, children's programming is a very small part of the overall plan for the station's programming which is currently being formulated. The actual programming will be far more eclectic. The name "Kids First" tends to confuse people. Frankly, I don't think children listen to virtually any radio these days. Only during a very short time in the early teens do they endeavor to control the family car radio. There are far too many other more enticing electronic options available - TV, video games, Ipods, DVDs, computers, etc - for them to worry about radio in general. My own personal experience as a parent is that children have a very narrow window of interest for this aniquated medium we old farts tend to love. WITT is intended to be real "community radio" - a concept central Indiana has no experience with unless they've spent time in Bloomington during the last decade or have lived in a community elsewhere in the nation that has been fortunate enough to have a true not-for-profit community radio station. Most people confuse community radio with public radio - NPR. Wholly two different critters. And any specific political aspect is certainly not the intent of the WITT license holder. Far from it, I believe. This is about fun and entertainment - two concepts that have all but disappeared from most radio today.

Every NCE needs a name ... at least this one apparently existed before they got interested in radio.

There is plenty to read back on in this thread ... no need to loop it.

Hmmm! An FM radio station is sold and moves out of Attica. Surprise! A new one pops up there.
WFWR 91.5.
A radio station is sold and moves out of Brownsburg. Surprise! A new one comes along to
take it's place. WITT.
So, John Dill president of WFWR worked for Bruce Quinn's WBQR in Attica. Did not Jim Walsh of
WITT work for Quinn's WQFE in Brownsburg?
Looks like someone is helping his friends get FCC licenses!!!!!!!!!

Dawg. There's a heck of a difference between central Hendricks and southern Boone counties. WITT is licensed to Zionsville.
