FCC LOCALISM HEARING in PORTLAND, MAINE 6/28/07 4 PM

One of the six FCC "localism hearings" is actually happening in Portland! on Thursday at 4 PM to 11 PM, at Portland High School, 284 Cumberland Ave, Portland.

At least one, maybe more, of the FCC Commissioners will be there.

The program for this event will be:
4 PM to 5:30 PM: Panel Discussion
5:30 to 7:30 PM: Open mike for the public
7:30 to 8 PM: break
8 PM to 9:00 PM: Panel Discussion
9 PM to 11 PM: Open mike for the public

The "panel discussion" will be done by area station and group-owner station suits, therefore the most interesting part of this will be the 'open mike' for the public.

No reservations needed to take part. Reason for this whole event is for the public being able to speak to station owners about media localism, with the FCC observing.

This event will be audio taped and will later be available on FCC website.
