Feinburg and Graham on in the mornings this week 7/2 - 7/6

Friday the 13th has come early with frighteningly bad radio this a.m.

Feinburg was a screaming apologist for Bush and Graham Cracker was no better.

The serious level of bad radio in a blue state only means that both stations are going to lose the few morning listeners they have. Before naysayers yap "change the channel", keep these two items in mind:

a)NPR was dreadfully dry and off-topic while we have no Air America anywhere

b)this Scooter Libby thing IS important to talk about; this is what a TWO SIDED conversation should argue and debate, not some screaming flake with no ratings kissing Bush's backside and saying what a fine American Libby is (then flip flopping if a caller kisses Todd's backside while not agreeing with him). Feinburg can be easily swayed if you sweet talk him - another sign that he has no spine and no talent.

we Americans face a serious danger when officials who should be held to higher standards slither away with no accountability. The only silver lining is that Feinburg and Graham are so very bad few will listen...and the few who do and agree with their foolish position probably don't have the money to keep the sponsors happy anyway...

While Clinton's approval ratings are soaring
http://www.nydailynews.com/news/wn_report/2007/07/03/2007-07-03_bonkers_for_bubba_in_iowa.html

you can hear Todd Feinburg yap about Paula Jones and the sins of Bill Clinton.

Problem for Feinburg - he and Finneran have no ratings while Clinton is more popular than ever before.

Do the math, Jason & Julie, do the math.

this Scooter Libby thing IS important to talk about

Then why don't you call the shows and bring it up?

You may want to use the 'fairness' angle and bring up the fact that whilst Marc Rich had to buy his pardon, Libby got his for free. It may inspire the spirited conversation you're seeking.

Glad to help.

Regards,
TSB

Agreed, Casablanca, [EDIT]

Feinburg and Graham can't do radio and Bush/Cheney can't do Government.

If Feinburg and Graham had any serious interest in radio outside of serving their masters they could address those horrid topics with some sensitivity for the audience - not their audience - the audience.

NOTE TO TSBENCH

You do not call a show that

a)Has a bad host with no manners
b)Has a button where they get their point across without letting you speak

It's better to post on the internet to get your point across because RKO is one-sided radio.

At least Howie Carr pushes the button so he can yap (although he does silence people too if he doesn't like their point of view) - he mostly wants to talk over callers because he's not a very good listener. H.C. is selfish when it comes to airtime, but that's his prerogative, so are many other hosts. Feinburg just won't allow ANY opposing point of view.

A "Graham rewind"? Cracker crumbs..... :)

raccoonradio said:
It was actually kind of chilling when Ted K was on the Sullivan party last week and I heard him say
"Mary Jo". I realized after a moment he was talking about Paul's wife, but I was thinking of the
Senator's victim...
I did hear a bit of the Graham rewind last night and he had a guest on from an pro-immigration
organization (MIRA, I think? Mass Immigrant Reform Assoc.?) with an opposing view to Graham's.

DUELLING CLINTONS:

Hillary (Living History): "I could hardly breathe (describing post-Lewinsky confrontation). Gulping for air, I started crying and yelling at him, 'What do you mean? What are you saying? Why did you lie to me?'"

Bill (My Life): "Because I could."

agreed--we'll put Jorge and Ricardo on talk radio, and Grahamcracker and Vote-For-Todd-He's-Got-A-Great-Bod*
in office. Switcheroo!

*--from the old "Nerds" (Todd & Lisa) sketches on Sat Night Live)

Ed Schultz is the #1 talk show host in San Diego and probably other regions. Fairness would be putting someone like Ed on - a smart host quick on his feet that is more middle-of-the-road than liberal. Better than two bad hosts like Feinham and Grahberg who are both "conservative" mouthpieces. That's just throwing this blue state a crumb - in a perfect world Carr, Limbaugh, Severino and all the bums would be thrown out. In a perfect world.

well if Grace, Jason/Julie, or others feel a Schultz would get ratings or billing, more power to 'em. I'm
not much for Savage or Doyle myself...or some other hosts...let the marketplace decide.
how about a debate show like Pat & Marge...?

Pat and Marjorie would be going backwards; unfortunately they are worn out. Better than Finneran (and a lot cheaper, no doubt). Certainly better than Feinbore but, c'mon, major radio station in major market can't do better than this?

Tuned into RKO this morning with the hope that there would be a sub in for the felon and much to my horror they were actually promoting "the best of" felon, OMG, I damn near fell outta my shoes........the best of?????????? LMAO! ;D :D :D :D :D

I agree with nearlly all points in the posting that started this all and I think Scooter Libby was handled well later inthe day by a woman on BUR. I had the day off and listened a lot. I don't know if this was NPR or local voice but she handled all the angles with good guests. Her voice actually sounds a bit like Ellen from RKO Saturdays? I don't know who it was because the name wasn't familiar to me but it was a very good show. The point is that Scooter Libby story should have been done by everyone all morning with informed guests and even supporters of Bush were openly criticizing him and two Boston AM stations I heard were not doing a good job of it.

Meanwhile TSBENCH is right about one thing: It's entertainment and Howie does entertain and I'd rather listen to him say "thank Whoooo Mr. Mayah" than listen to some of his callers talk like it's community auditions for their stand-up gigs.

And yes the blogs are clearly made up of a lot of media folks with personal agendas. I'd like more 'average listener' input but I don't think they sit around blogging on this topic. I'm out of town starting today and I never listen online so will be looking forward to finding out what's been going on around the dial when I get back. So, thanks to those of you who do keep an ear out.
