Perhaps the most obscure character from that series. Itt was seen creeping across the floor, muttering unintelligibly, in several episodes, but never had anything approaching a featured role. Even Thing had a higher profile -- he was the helpful hand in the box, which I believe belonged to Ted Cassidy, who played Lurch, the butler.
Hmm. Did Thing and Lurch ever appear on screen at the same time? It's been too long since I've seen the show. Wasn't there a scene where Lurch was playing the piano and Thing was turning the pages of the sheet music for him? Thing must've been occasionally played by an understudy.
