Fifteen new HD Radio topics in well under thirty minutes. Is this a new record?

Well, I guess I'm convinced now to run out and buy an HD radio. Good work ElCheapo! You sure are very persuasive.

Certain people here like to dig up every article they can find that in some random way slights HD and post that as a thread. :D

I figured turnabout is fair play - and I had some catching up to do...

Yeah. I figured it'll be worth buying an HD radio since the bandwagon is now irresistable. Where can I find one for under $50. Being an angry loser, washed-up radio has-been-wanna-be, that's about all I can afford. Will an HD radio make me popular with the ladies?

While excitedly waiting for your reply on where I may buy an HD radio for under $50, I stumbled across these comments at:

http://radio.about.com/od/opinionpieces/a/aa102506a.htm

"Folks, it's the same tired old crap that the major radio stations are putting out now, just three times more, and it does sound a bit better…It's obvious that the AM/FM stations are scared to death of the growth of non-terrestrial radio and it's killing them. They are just slapping some lipstick on the Pig that current AM/FM broadcasting has become and they're trying to pass it off as something new and trendy that the American public 'must' buy." – Ron

"...there is nothing 'High Definition' about HD Radio, and you won't find any reference to 'High Definition' on the website for Ibiquity Corporation, the developer and licensing agent for HD Radio technology. The trademark was obviously created to cause confusion with HDTV, which indeed is 'High Definition'...At a presentation to broadcast engineers, an Ibiquity spokesperson made it a point to tell us that the 'HD' in HD Radio should not be meant to infer that there is anything 'High Definition' about their product, and that it's only a trademark." - Joseph

Please tell me that it just ain't so, ElCheapo. I really would like to be a hit wth the ladies.

Then, that just ain't so, vsa!

It ain't so? Are you sure?

You are telling me that the "HD" in HD Radio does indeed stand for "high-definition". Right?

How about that under $50 HD radio to impress the ladies?

I don't know of too many things that cost just $50 that impress the ladies, but that's a discussion for a different forum. We're talkin' HD Radio here!

So, please tell me about HD radio's "high-definition" qualities. I hear that it's truly CD quality. A lady and I can spend the evening listening to sports talk on my favorite AM station in CD quality, right? How exciting!!!

Oh please excuse me! I just wet myself over the excitement of getting an HD radio soon.

Back later!

Good for you, ElCheapo ! I know that you are just upset, because Santa isn't bringing HD Radio to a store near you ! HD Radio is still going to fail, despite all the articles you posted - meltdown ! :D
