First new AM log of 2019-20 - on 1710 khz?! 9/6/2019

I've never had something like this before. Not on your usual 530 or 1610 frequency.

1710 - TIS, Travis AFB CA; with no calls. Very weak Information Radio loop about why they exist, 'tune in your car radio to find this frequency', 'safety of life & property', 'licensed by the FCC'. A look at the IRCA groups.io site shows proof that the TIS is based near or at Travis Air Force Base near Sacramento, CA. Take a look at this:

and

This is NEW #783, unknown power (suspect 10-100 watts) at a whopping 578 miles. It helps that 1710 is just completely dead around here except for a very occasional carrier. The people with extremely good antennas and quiet listening spots may get an occasional pirate, but otherwise nothing comes in. First new one of the season. Hoping for more.

Lots of HSFB tonight with usuals from OR and ID, but nothing from the two WY graveyarders I need on 1340 (Worland) and 1400 (Cody) that both had HSFB tonight. Maybe later in the season when it gets dark earlier.
