I flipped through morning radio for about an hour this morning.
I started off listening to Monica and Keith on The Zone. Avril lavigne, RHCP, and that How Bizarre song. They play LOTS of music in the morning. Monica Lowe was going on about airport security and how they confiscate all the toothpaste and gel. Keith Brooks seemed bored with the whole thing. He needed a few witty remarks...maybe he was updating his myspace page at the time and wasn't paying attention. Monica Lowe read a short news segment that was mostly compelling. She went through some quick news items. Again, Keith Brooks very low key. perhaps because it's Monday.
Also checked out The Paul Show on y92. They played Eagle Eye Cherry Save Tonight and some crappy sappy ballad by Elton John. Paul aired an old wine-tasting commercial bit from the Paul and Phil days. The humor was dry. He also talked about his big run over the weekend. Read an e-mail from a listener. Paul also did a pretty good job with the sports.
Adam Corrola on KWOD was all about Danny Bonaduce winning some drug award in LA. A husky-voiced Danny went on and on about how he knows a lot about prescription medicine. Can he ever cover a different topic? I liked Andy Hawk with traffic. He mentioned the dog in the road outside the studio and that he was not responsible. HA.
Mark and Brian were entertaining this morning on the Eagle. They were talking about the movie box office and how bad Wild Hogs was. Martin Lawrence is the unfunny. I like the newschick too. They were definately solid.
I also listened to Rob Arnie and Dawn on 98 Rock for a segment. They were in the middle of talking about little league and the wussy bench warmers. It related to a topical story in the news. They were brutal on the bench-warmer kids....but in a mocking, humorous way! Of course Dawn was on the other side of the argument. Compelling local radio.
