All in all, a great evening for DX! Cheers!

Crain,

It's interesting to read your DX reports from Washington. I like reading about how much different reception can be in such a short distance. That's one of the few 'cons' of DX'ing FM here in southern Michigan. Because i'm far away from everything, i'm actually getting closer to bigger cities when i'm leaving town. So everything I hear weakly in my location is usually stronger wherever i'm heading. I imagine when you leave Seattle for higher elevations, you hear adjacent stations that aren't always possible in the city. I don't get that luxury here. I'm already as far away as I can get!

I'm also unable to get the exotic LPFM and translator DX that you get out on the passes. During one freak tropo event in '07, I heard an LPFM from 85 miles away! During regular conditions I can only muster about 40 miles, and that's only with a trained ear and favorable terrain. Otherwise, 30 to maybe 35 is about tops for a low-powered FM station.

Say, how long have you been into FM DX? I've known about it since I was in HS in the 90's/00's, but started actually logging my catches a few years later.
