Hey everyone! I'm still alive and well - got moved into my permanent place with NO internet for 2 weeks!! Ziply said that there was a fiber cut in the road and they couldn't help me. Sparklight just got me installed today. Meanwhile, I have been insanely busy with teaching 5th grade and grading homework and tests, plus dealing with behavior problems. Thus very little time to use the Internet and even DX.
I did go on another hike last Saturday. I hiked the Eagle's Nest mountain bike trail, roughly 10 miles east of Cascade in a recently-reopened area after the Snag Fire. This is in between Cascade and Warm Lake, and was an old fire lookout. Access to the lookout is not via the trail. Instead, you have to bushwhack through the forest, roughly 500 feet of gain, to get to the lookout at 7,646 feet. Pictures soon. I haven't had time to send out any pictures due to aforementioned teaching / grading / etc. Like with other nearby peaks and mountain sites, interesting scans with constant scatter, aircraft/tropo or otherwise. Some surprising catches.
