FM Translator Frequencies reused in a given Radio Market

I am currently working with someone who may do this in a major market. Obviously, I can't give details.

In Los Angeles, EMF has an SFN-like operation that involves two full-service FMs and a translator on the same channel (92.7).

Do you know how they are syncing them up? Does it work well?

WGNS 1450 Murfreesboro, TN has two translators

At one point KQCV in OKC had four translators.

WKGX and WJRI in Lenoir, NC both have two translators each. It‘s not something you see often though.

We have a local AM station with two translators on the same tower.

WCJW 1140 in Warsaw NY has 6 translators

They even upgraded from 2.5kw to 8kw a few years ago in part to fit more translators in under the rules at the time.

WKLA in Ludington, MI has two translators on the same tower with very similar (if not exact) (92.7 and 106.3). 92.7 was the original one and had previously relayed an FM station, while 106.3 was added during one of the translator windows. For a while, only 106.3 was on, but for the last few months, both 92.7 and 106.3 are on. Side note: the 92.7 translator might be their owners' attempt to block a fairly popular and powerful CHR station on 92.9 (WJZQ) from getting into Ludington since WKLA has a sister FM that is a (poorly run and 99% off the bird) CHR

Actually, im pretty sure 96.3 KLA is hard drive automated. Yes, ok... its not locally programmed, but its not on the bird. Local Radio Networks does have formats up on the satellite but most of the stations are using their respective formats with the music on a local hard drive and the jocks talk breaks pushed directly to local computers, @ftballfan

Do you know how they are syncing them up? Does it work well?

I believe they are using a Geo Broadcast Systems solution. I am not physically in Los Angeles, so I have not had a chance to test it out.
