FNX Parent company buys 35% of Spanish daily

I know several here, including me, have said the best use of FNX 101.7/101.3 would be spanish language programming.

The realty of the situation is that FNX is worth more to Mindich & Co. as a promotional vehicle for his ah ah ah "newspaper". THose personal services ads and 900 number ads generate a ton of revenue I bet.

Well maybe Mindich is hedging his bet. On of his companies has bought 35 % of a spanish daily that is similar to the Metro, the free paper that is part owned by the Boston Globe (and by default the New York Times)

Perhaps the staff of that Spanish-language paper will tell their new part-owner to flip WFNX to Espanol (maybe to the Reggaeton or "La Kalle"-type formats that appeal to younger Hispanic listeners).

But Mindich probably won't do it, though.

I doubt he's do it for 35% ownership, when he fully owns 100% of (at least) two "alternative" entertainment weekly papers.
