For folks who are following Leslie Fram at WRXP...

This is from Tom Taylor's daily column:

Revenues for WRXP, New York (101.9) were down 60% for the latest fiscal year.
The ratings are up to a 1.9 share in the latest September PPMs, for age 6+ AQH shares. (They'd been as humble as a 0.9.) And the cume has climbed past 1.8 million. Even more hopefully, Emmis tells the SEC that “a station that was a primary competitor recently changed its format and no longer competes directly” with the New York Rock Experience, doing adult alternative. That’s CBS Radio’s new CHR “92.3 Now FM” WXRK, the former K-Rock. By confessing that revenues for the fiscal year that ended in late February were 60.4% lower than the year before, Emmis also gives itself the platform to show nice percentage growth – even if the absolute number of dollars is relatively small. Emmis says its other two New York stations (urban Hot 97/WQHT and urban AC “Kiss” WRKS) “exceeded the performance of the overall New York market” for the fiscal year. They put a tourniquet on the losses in Los Angeles at KMVN (93.9) by LMAing it out to Grupo Radio Centro, and now if they can get WRXP (the former smooth jazz WQCD) contributing, it will really help the company.

Did 99X ever have real ratings during Leslie's tenure there? Seems like the "golden days" when she was in charge was a bunch of hype, fluff, and spin.

I guess as long as she is never programming against a direct competitor, she will be fine by default. :p

She should be programming something more like "all Christmas music"....

Trig, in Trig Palin? Does your mother know you are posting on Radio-Info?

My mother (or my grandmother for that matter) is not a program director. And if they were, i wouldn't expect them to relate or know what a male listener aged 25 years old would want to hear on the radio. Nor would they want to listen to my mother or grandmother talking about how much money they make and how their day at the spa was on the radio.. It's good to see her out of the 18-34 arena,....
