For KDGE's 20th this week... aircheck of KDGE 94.5 7/3/1989

While going to get a Tex-Mex fix at Matt's, I noticed the Lakewood Theater's marquee shows a KDGE 20th reunion this week. In honor of that, from Chip's radio audio vault, come with me to July 3 1989 when "Z-Rock" KZRK 94.5 had just been silenced to make way for the new KDGE. Gone was heavy metal for a pre-Nirvana and pre-grunge alternative music world of The Proclaimers, Love & Rockets, B52s, Ziggy Marley, Depeche Mode, and such. Altogether now: "I don't know what color your eyes are baby, but your hair is long and brown / your legs are strong and you're so so long ..." http://www.sendspace.com/file/zo4yfq

KDGE wasn't our first "modern rocker." KEGL had tried "the rock of the '80s" in the early 1980s. The odds are slim...but doesn't anyone have any aircheck of KEGL from back then?
