Forever Communications, the owner of WFGS "Froggy 103.7" of Murray, has made some substantial changes to Murray's radio station lineup. The two AM stations that operate out of Murray, 1130 and 1340 (WNBS), have both changed formats. 1130, formerly a sports talk station, is now a Top 40 contemporary station named WBZB, and it is paired with a new FM station on 104.5. The FM station is rather low-powered - it is pretty hard to pick up outside of the immediate area of Calloway County, perhaps so as to not be very redundant with WDDJ 96.9 of Paducah - yet Forever Communications is branding WBZB as "Bee 104.5," not "Bee 1130". Furthermore, WNBS, formerly a news/sports talk station, is now a "classic" (that is, 1980s) hits station. It is also paired with a new FM station, on 97.9. This station, however, continues to be branded under the name of WNBS.
How odd - AM station becoming music stations.
