Former ABC15 Anchor Stephanie Hockridge and Husband - Blueacorn PPP Facilitated Fraud

PHOENIX — A Scottsdale-based company that processed Paycheck Protection Program loan applications during the pandemic failed to screen out applicants with signs of fraud while abusing the program to enrich its owners, according to a congressional subcommittee.
Local Blueacorn founders include former ABC15 anchor Stephanie Hockridge Reis and her entrepreneur husband Nate Reis.

Yikes. That's disappointing.

More in the article: Scottsdale-based Blueacorn PPP facilitated fraud, per newly released congressional report

If I understand the situation correctly, they collected 10 percent of the total PPP dollar loans they handled.
This is a colossal amount of money!

Give ABC 15 credit for clearly disclosing that Hockridge was a former anchor there. Unlike Fox 10 who has basically ignored the fact that Kari Lake ever worked there.
Nonsense. That was one article about Hockridge. Kari Lake was in the news constantly and FOX 10 doesn't have to report that she was a former anchor there on every single article/story about her. As yes, they have previously mentioned that she was a former anchor.

I'm definitely not a Fox 10 fan but do see their point. Because of the type of accusations Lake was making it would have done two things: (1) Brought some amount of shame to Fox 10 based upon Lake's nonsensical statements and (2) Made it very easy for Fox 10 to be accused and ridiculed to appear to have supported her candidacy. It likely would have been a no-win situation and Lake didn't need any additional goofy publicity.

Agreed Derek. The anchors at Fox 10 matter-of-factly refer to Lake as a "former news anchor". They're clearly distancing themselves from her as much as possible. :sneaky:

After reading the article, John Hook disappointed me. As a prominent radio/ TV news professional in Arizona, why did he choose to echo the Rupert Murdoch blather on Twitter? I had given Hook more intelligence credits.

Oh well, Lake has managed to stretch (trash) the Fox bias on current news. Lake follows "the former guy's" patterns to the tee.
