Former 92.3 FREE-FM host Leslie Gold, The Radio Chick has started a daily weekday podcast with her producer Paul "Butch" Brennan. More info at theradiochick.com
 
I wish them luck, and may even give them a listen, as I was an occasional listener when they were on WNEW along with Mike Addams - and later wtih Chuck Nice...

But if I don't say it, clearly, somebody else will: At least you can't get fired from a podcast!
 
Is this just a podcast, for the sake of the fans? Or is she posturing for a possible return to the airwaves?

I'm laboring through the first ten minutes of her first podcast and she's saying her contract with CBS just ran out at the beginning of 2009. Oh no! Luckily, there isn't a station in NYC that would hire her, or is there? Hopefully now the contract is up she's still gotta sit out a non-compete.

Non-compete clauses were struck down in N.Y. State by legislative action a few months ago; thus, Leslie's free to work within N.Y. State (& I would assume elsewhere-not sure about how this action affects working outside N.Y. State-feel free to chip in) if indeed her contract is up.
 
Leslie Gold is the epitome of the worst radio NYC has ever seen. Cookie cutter unimaginative by the numbers crap.

Pick a news story and discuss. OR talk about last night's American Idol. Commercial. Let callers bore the f out of everybody. Commercial. Repeat with a new story or whatever else was big on TV last night.

Remember her stupid Q104 billboards that said, "She's not stern." NO KIDDING!!!
 
What's up with talent (use the word loosely) that have lost their job thiking that anyone really cares about them to and their stupid podcast?

For years LG was trying to be the female version of Howard Stern on the radio. That didn't exactly work out to well. Noe doing Podcasts? What's next answering machine

This is a very funny thread to an extent. At least she's on a podcast and not on the air like one we have at a radio station far, far away. Lots of inane blab when she doesn't have the music to get her point across; and then she shows up in town with all kinds of gimmicks to try to get listeners away from the station with the same format right down the street, where the jocks have talent and loyal listeners.

Can we change the subject on this board from Former Free FM host to Current Radio Failure Leslie Gold.

I wonder what has a bigger audience this podcast or her former Free FM show?
