Former KBXX Night Jocks, The "Krackernuttz", now doing weekends on Hot (KKHH)

Re: Former KBXX Night Jocks, The "Krackernuttz", now doing weekends on Hot (KKHH)

Heard it this weekend. Great to hear them back on the radio again!!

Now if Brandi Garcia can come back on the radio somewhere, im set. ;D

Re: Former KBXX Night Jocks, The "Krackernuttz", now doing weekends on Hot (KKHH)

I wonder if Hot is leaning more CHR/Urban?

I looked at cbs's websites Mix 96.5 looks alot like the old KRBE with it's day parts being 75% of old KRBE jocks. Mornings has Maria/Middays has aynna mack/nights has lauren and I just heard it's being programmed by Tracy Austin KRBE's old PD! I say this to say maybe mix 96.5 is starting to compete with KRBE to Free up HOT 95.7... hmmmmmm

So then I looked at the Hot 95.7 website and it's day parts. well (lauren)from krbe has re-invented herself as kelly kelly but most of the time "the latina girl" Carmen Contaras is filling in for her... my point is Carmen was KBXX 97.9's mid day girl before brandi garcia and now with the addition of the Krackernuttz moving to weekends one has to wonder how long before CBS moves them to nights. After all they had very high numbers at night while on 97.9 and since when does a company hire THREE people to do weekends???

Hot's Playlist has been on the fence and now with former urban jocks...hmmmmmm (i'm just saying)

You do have a point there.

Could CBS Radio Houston be actually starting to target the demo that would be a little more younger?? Would they make Mix to be a more direct competitor to KRBE?? Would Hot eventually end up as The Box's new competitor (they kinda are on the rythmic side, anyway)?? Mega's already doing in on the Spanish side, and based on what I've been reading about KILT lately, it looks like they are dropping the target demo a few ages down a little too.

Now that's a thinker...

Could be the next step down the road to music mediocrity.

Just guessing, but if CBS is guiding the Houston stations to lower the target demos, there could be an irony here. CBS Radio's president, Dan Mason, is known for making some key decisions for the local stations, and if younger demos are ordered and Hot goes after 97.9's audience that would be some move, since Dan is one of the guys who put KBXX on the air (going on 20 years ago, right?).
