Former KLOC/KCSO-TV Channel 19 Owner-CHESTER SMITH passes Away!

I hope I have the right category? Broadcaster and Country Music Singer, CHESTER SMITH passed away last week ,August 8 at the age of 78. Even though he got his start in radio at KTRB-860 MODESTO and had his own radio station, KLOC-920 CERES (now KVIN) in 1963, his major business has been owning several television stations. He got his start with KLOC-TV CHANNEL 19 in MODESTO 42 years ago on this day. He later sold this station to UNIVISION. More recently he owned KCSO-LP 33 as well as Fox Affiliates in CHICO, REDDING and EUREKA. Check out this tribute at http://www.modestoradiomuseum.org/chester smith.html
 
Don't forget KNSO 51 Merced-Fresno which he sold to Telemundo.
