Alpha Media Portland announces Gene Sandbloom as its Operations Director and Program Director for 101.9 KINK FM effective October 1. Sandbloom will lead the content and programming teams for the company’s seven iconic Portland brands spanning the radio spectrum: FM 101 KXL (News/Talk), LIVE 95.5 (KBFF/Top 40), 98.7 THE BULL (KUPL/Country), 101.9 KINK FM (AAA), 750 THE GAME (KXTG/Sports), WE 102.9 (KWEE/Hip Hop) and Freedom 970 (KUFO/Conservative Talk).
Most recently, Sandbloom was Operations Manager at KROQ and 93.1 JACK FM/Los Angeles. Prior to his 25-year run at CBS Radio, he was A&R Director at MCA Records and Managing Editor of Network 40 Magazine. For CBS Radio, Sandbloom produced Openline for the cluster, was the “go-to” guy for all of the Marconi and Crystal Awards submissions for KROQ, worked closely with sales and promotions to ensure the stations were over-delivering on client commitments, and had been an important voice in all strategic programming decisions during his time at KROQ and JACK.
