Former Mojo 100.3 Morning Man Pat Barry Sues Radio One

No wonder they are quick to change formats over there. This sounds like a way not to pay what they promised Barry.

http://cincinnati.com/blogs/tv/2013/08/01/pat-barry-fired-for-spying/

DJ Pat Barry says he was fired from WMOJ-FM (MOJO 100.3) last October after being accused of “corporate espionage” for forwarding a station email to long-time friend Randy Michaels.

Using his real name of Barry Tingley, he sued Radio One and Blue Chip Broadcasting Monday in Hamilton County Common Pleas Court saying he was refused “severance, vacation or other accrued benefits using a false… reason of corporate espionage” for his termination after 13 months on Oct. 25, 2012.

I had no idea he was fired. From what Kiesewetter wrote at the time, it sounded like Pat Barry left on his own terms.

What shocked me was His statement that He wanted to stay when they switched to FM 100 The Fan. He would sound good doing afternoons on Old School 100.3.

So they say they fired him because he forwarded a company email to someone with another radio company.

He says yes, he did that.

So whacha suin' for, Barry??

It doesn't matter that there was nothing proprietary in the email. You don't forward company correspondence to competing companies. 40 years in radio and you don't know that??

I think he used to be a good guy 40 yrs ago but certainly someone who got very impressed with himself very quickly. I remember him sitting in a bar in Mt Adams in the late 1980's waiting to be recognized and then acting irritated that he was. Ego can be a terrible thing sometimes.
