Former Shreveport DJ/Comedien George died this evening of Congestive Heart Failure.

Carlin, who passed at age 71 is best known for his bit "Seven dirty words" The comedy bit prompted a landmark indecency case after WBAI-FM radio aired it in 1973.

The comedien performed his last show last week in Las Vegas at the Orleans Casino.

He will be sincerely missed.

i deliver chemical supplies and equipment to farmers in the area. this morning i talked to one of my customers by phone nearby who said his dad used to listen to him on KEEL in the 1950s.

Official website lists a station called KJOE But also worked in Boston and Dallas before hitting the big time.. But Shreveport,Louisiana (where he was stationed in the military) was his first.

Only record I can find is a KJOE on 1480 online but have no other thing to back it up other than the call was a good one into at least the early 1980s (so it wouldn't be KEEL I don't think)
