Harry T. Price, the second of six children, was born in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania. He worked numerous jobs in his youth, beginning as a paperboy, grocery stocker, concessionaire, and gas station attendant. While attending Lock Haven State University, he served as a master of ceremonies throughout the area until he became a news anchor for WBPZ-TV, a CBS-TV satellite station. Following his graduation from Lock Haven State with a Bachelor's degree, he began his high school teaching career. While doing graduate work at Penn State University, he also worked as a salesman.
