I have heard that Bruce Hodges is pushing to have his "Nightride" Show on 93.1!!! Anybody have any details?? Thanks!!!

Why would a radio station that does not have an over night person want to add to the budget and add a live show? Wow, that would be a first for the GSO market, a real person on the radio over night. Am sure theat CC will man up also and put real live people back on the air at their cluster.

This thread really needs no discussion. If you know the market I am sure you will agree that Entercom is not about to add a non experienced talent to their stable and go against the grain and put a live person on over night. There is this thing in sales called ROI (Return on Investment) and I see no return on this investment with this move!

I didn't hear it, but a freidn of mine said that it was going to be on there starting as early as midnight tonight. I hope somebody listens out to that channel and sees by hearing!!!! :-* 8) ;D ;D ;D ;D :D ;) :) ;) :D ;D :p :p

Really is in "Economics", but I enjoyed your comment...in which I agree with you! :D

Maybe The Wolf will hire Nightrider when they start doing them Warthog games!

This is great news. I'm sure there will a big audience and they will pull some great numbers with the Warthogs. Who do you think they will get to do the play by play and the color commentary when they start carrying the Warthog games? And do you think they will also carry the away games too? I've heard of stations even taping games and playing them back the next day, maybe they'll do that too.

It's all about live and local. They should get a local celebrity PBP guy for each show, do some crazy stunts, then run repeats through the overnights so local people can tape them!
Running them overnights will also allow the broadcasters to stay live at the stadium between innings, when all the crazy mess like Kid Sumo wrasslin and Circle The Bat and Race The Mascot happen! Can't go to commercials and miss those things, those are local people there! Save the commercials for the overnights, use your overnight dj to insert the ads then, that way when the local people involved are taping their performances, they will be listening really close to the local commercials. Win-win!

WOW!!! Some posters here are WAY out of touch with Winston-Salem!!!! First of all, the WARTHOGS have not existed for 2 years!!!!!! The Winston-Salem DASH took their place two years ago. This past season, the Dash opened and NEW stadium and attendance went from last in the laegue to FIRST!!!! Yes, the Winston-Salem Dash had the highesta ttendance in their league! Look for those games to be on local radio next year! By the way, what does Bruce Hodges have to do with the WS Dash?????????????????????????????????????????????????????

It was kind of satire, GTaGO.
I was going to say the Red Sox or the Spirits, but that would've made it seem more out of touch than all the slobbering rumormongering that some posters do.

I thought the guy was a jerk and it seemed like the show's theme song and the National Anthem took way too long. A longtime listener would probably not be bothered by those extras at the beginning since the show would last much longer than that, but I'm ready to go to bed by that time. And he also played too much new music.

I wonder if WBRF-FM 98.1 will bring back the Niteride Show now that Tom Collins is not the G.M.?

For the LAST time, the Warthogs haven`t existed for over 2 years!!!!! The DASH replaced them (with a new stadium and top attendence in the league last year). What the hell does this have to do with WBRF-FM??? Someone is OBSESSED with the non-existant Warthogs! What ya smokin` there good buddy??

I have Warthog season tickets. I've heard the Epperson Twins (Big Stu & Little Stu) have the broadcast rights and will have the games on 980 AM. Can't wait till springtime in the Camel City!

I called WTQR and they said the Warthogs aren't going to be on there! They said it's probably a 980/1500 simulcast.
Good job getting the clearance rights Stus! This is going to make Winston-Salem the city it should have been. This kind of synergy and outside-the-box thinking is what we need!

I also have word that the Bats are going to run on channel 2 between oldies music videos.
